18:46 - It is with great regret (and mild amusement) that we have to report the sad demise of a pub car park barrier after being assulted by Matt Fawcet's bicycle. It appears that Matt had been out cycling the Miners Track at Snowdon. When finished Matt placed his trusted cycle on the roof rack and trundled his merry way back to his lodgings. Unfortunately Matt forgot that the height of his car + bicycle was greater than the pub car park barrier and the inevitable happened. A witness reported that the bicycle had suffered serious damage and will require hospital treatment and the barrier was completely broken. The pub was full at the time of the incident with approx 200 people watching the drama unfold. The pub has re-booked Matt on a weekly basis as the rapturous applause was very good for business. The Police are interested (as are we) should anyone have any footage of the above incident.
